How do you consume electricity?
It’s a question developers, designers, energy experts and budding entrepreneurs will be asking themselves over a weekend of hacking away, creating apps and hardware, with the focus of integrating The Green Button.
The data that comes from how much consumers, consume electricity, and how they consume in their everyday lives, work, and play. If we can figure out better ways for them to understand the amounts of electricity they are using, then consumers can consume less, save money, and feel better about their role in energy use.
About the The Green Button
The Green Button open API will be a main API that needs to be used in the hackathon. It allows Ontarians to access and share electricity data in a standardized, secure manner. Already been adopted across the United States (including Federally!). In fact, to date, it's allowed 2.6 million Ontarians to access and share their electricity data.
